Half Acre Beer (Lincoln Avenue) brews some of Chicago’s most recognizable IPAs — a natural anchor for any north-side crawl. Pair it with Revolution Brewing in Logan Square (the city’s largest independent craft brewer), Maplewood Brewery a few blocks west, and Hopewell Brewing for a four-stop Logan Square route that runs 4–5 hours comfortably. For a west-side swing, Goose Island on Fulton/Clybourn adds name recognition, and Begyle Brewing in North Center is a quieter, patio-heavy stop that groups consistently like. We time the pickups and wait at each location so nobody rushes a tasting.
Suburban Taprooms & Illinois Wineries

Tabor Hill Winery is 15 minutes east, with a full-service restaurant and a terrace that works well for groups. Lemon Creek Winery in Berrien Springs is a family estate with a more relaxed, come-as-you-are feel. St. Julian Winery (the oldest and largest Michigan winery) has tasting rooms in New Buffalo, which puts it at the start or end of the route depending on your direction. About 3 hours northwest, Galena gives groups something distinctly different: a walkable 19th-century downtown, rolling countryside, and two excellent producers. Distilling in downtown Galena rounds out the day with handcrafted whiskey and gin — a welcome change for groups with mixed wine/spirits preferences.
